  17. <p>     At 17, 5 ft. 4 1/2 in., 112 lbs., Elizabeth Taylor is a great
  18. beauty. She is a perfect type of the Black Irish. She has heavy
  19. black hair and brows that are also black and thick, but not a
  20. whit too thick to frame her large, luxuriantly lashed blue eyes,
  21. which darken into violet in the least shadow. Her complexion has
  22. been described by an ecstatic publicity man as "a bowl of cream
  23. with a rose floating in it." Cameramen have paid her Hollywood's
  24. ultimate compliment to beauty: "She doesn't have a bad angle."
  25. </p>
  26. <p>     Elizabeth's womanly beauty usually makes strangers forget that
  27. she is, after all, only a youngster, but her behavior quickly
  28. reminds them of it. Beneath her breath-taking facade there is
  29. scarcely a symptom of sophistication. But Elizabeth, for all her
  30. youngish ways, is a purposeful girl in a way that Hollywood
  31. admires: she is feverishly ambitious to make a success in
  32. pictures.

  34. <p>     When Elizabeth talks about her future in that movies, her
  35. eyes flash sapphire sparks. "What I'd really like to play," she
  36. gasps excitedly, "is a monster-hellion." M-G-M's Billy Grady
  37. thinks she has the temperament as well as the beauty to become
  38. a great star--"And when she begins to show it--Oh, Brother!"
